Back-to-work blues or stuck in a rut?

Back-to-work-blues-stuck-in-a-rut

Back at work and planning your next holiday?

There’s nothing like a break to remind you that you really are ready for a new challenge or a change of scenery.

Maybe it’s just a touch of the back-to-work blues?

But what if it’s something more serious?

Groundhog day?

Stuck in a rut?

What if you’ve lost your mojo?

Don’t worry - with the help of some friends I’ve compiled a list of tips that will help you to shake off the blues, turn things around and make yourself feel better all round.

  1. Walk in nature (the No.1 recommendation)

  2. Grab a glossy and head to a café – get time alone with no agenda

  3. Get physical – go and do something that gets you out of your of your head and into your body (swim, go to the gym, run, walk, jog)

  4. If you’re into yoga – a headstand or handstand gives you a new perspective

  5. Plan a mini-adventure

  6. Go on a big adventure

  7. Book into an Airbnb with a pile of books and a highlighter – immerse yourself

  8. Learn something new

  12. Take up boxing (highly recommended for when you feel angry and stuck)

Why stop at 42?

The number 42 is, in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything", calculated by an enormous supercomputer named Deep Thought over a period of 7.5 million years. (Thanks to Wikipedia).
